Hot To..Mombie?
On March 31, 2016 by hottomatopinupacademy8…and wine. Seriously.
If you are lucky enough to have one of these super hero types around your house, please read on.
Meet one of Hot Tomato’s favorite little families! The Fortune family has been blessed with three gorgeous boys and when I think of super-hero Mom’s, Nicole is one of the first smiling faces to appear in my mind!
“Ah! Mom! You so bootiful. Your lips smell like apples.” -jrf
Patience Runs Out and So Does Milk
What do you do when you’re out of milk? You get more milk. Simple right?
“I can go get milk. I’ll just dress and take the kids for milk. Easy enough. It will be nice to get out. I’m so productive. I’ll even comb my hair.”
You take a deep breath, rise from the couch, plan a route to the bathroom out of the visual field of the tiny guards that monitor your every move, tip toe all ninja-like and nearly find yourself home free in a room by yourself when you accidentally step on a bath toy that feels like it could be a hairless rodent. You spin/jump and as soon as you realize you aren’t an agile ballerina and are unlikely to “nail the landing” you fling out your arms to grab anything to keep you from dying near the toilet. You almost had the counter but only managed to grasp the Superman toothpaste. Squirting its uncapped contents on the shower curtain, you plummet to the floor atop a heap of this morning’s towels and robes, bouncing your head off the edge of the bathtub, avoiding cranial fracture only by the cushion of your drooping messy bun. Way to go, Mombie. Now, everyone has to cry. Tears over getting dressed, the choice of snacks, last minute potty tries, too tight car seat straps, wrong radio station, hairy 3 month old nugget confiscation, forgotten juice cup, mandatory hat wearing and hand holding in the parking lot, the love/hate relationship with the shopping cart, the old lady that dared to smile in our direction and was then rewarded with a kicking/violent head shaking display. You know the scene because it plays on repeat for about the first decade or so of parenthood.
No, it’s not all bad. Yes, it’s totally worth it. Mombies wouldn’t trade a single moment and all that. BUT, Mother’s Day is different. On Mother’s Day we have a bit of an expectation. Here is where I really need you to tune in…When you take Mom the chunky oatmeal and the burnt toast that the “kids” made and after she’s graciously accepted gifts of tiny hand-prints, cutout hearts and squished dandelions, send the kids to watch cartoons and give her a shiny certificate for what every Mombie needs. FOUR FLIPPING HOURS!!!
Let Hot Tomato handle this Mother’s Day like nobody else can. Let us remind her that she’s not as alone as she feels sometimes. Let us be a group that delights in trading tales of chubby cheeks, first steps, weird rashes, cryptic toddler language and poop.
Picture This.
This beautiful Mombie that you adore is in a place where she can relax! No need to keep anyone on a schedule. No one is making demands. No one is asking a relentless stream of questions.
A cheerful woman enters the room and hands her a mimosa while music for adults plays in the background free from xylophone solos and shouting pre-schoolers. Another delightful female enters the room. She says to her “Hey there, Beautiful!” and begins to lay out brilliant palettes of rich pigments and plunk soft, fluffy brushes into a glass jar. As if in the movie Cinderella, Mombie is whirled joyfully and seamlessly into a breathtaking vision!
Thinking of nothing but her comfort, she’s offered a snack and water to energize her for the fun ahead.
Next she will be ushered into the Wardrobe where all of her favorite outfits have been carefully laid out down to the last detail. She’ll be catered to by a private Concierge that will be just outside to assist in dressing and will point her in the right direction when her look is complete.
Oohhs and aahhs will echo in the halls as she’s escorted to a blush-colored room flooded with sunshine causing rainbows to playfully bounce along the walls from the crystal chandelier… The rest is for her to share!
Sounds like a fairy tale doesn’t it? That’s the goal. Taking women out of their norm for a few hours and making them feel like royalty has an amazing effect. Fill her tank. Remind her she’s beautiful. Everyone wins when Mama get’s four flippin hours 😉
Fill out all Mombie’s information on this quick form—-> Inquiry Form and in the box that says “What can we help you with?” tell us you want to gift a session for Mother’s Day! Someone will call you, gather a few details and we will take care of the rest!
Happy Mother’s Day from Hot Tomato!
And a huge thank you to Nicole Fortune for letting us use these beautiful images of her and her boys. You’re one of our favorites, Nicole!!
