The Perfect Ohio Girls Weekend
Are you from out of the area and looking for a fun weekend get away? Grab your besties and enjoy getting to know one of Ohio’s gems! Hot Tomato Portraits is located in the historic Dime Bank building in charming downtown Marietta, Ohio. One weekend here and you will see why Marietta’s brick streets and friendly river town atmosphere call people back again and again.
We have a couple great local hotels within walking distance of Hot Tomato Portraits. For a taste of local flavor we would recommend the Historic Lafayette Hotel located at the confluence of the Ohio and Muskingham Rivers. If a modern, boutique hotel experience is more your speed? We can practically see the Hackett Hotel from our studio!
The perfect weekend could have you arriving in town Friday evening, checking into your hotel, catching dinner and a nightcap before hopping in bed early so you are fresh as a daisy for your Saturday Hot Tomato Portrait session.
Saturday morning, swing by Jeremiah’s Coffee House for coffee (make sure you ask for Stomp N Grounds Craft coffee) and a light breakfast, then make your way to the studio for a day of portraits and pampering.
Cheer each other on as you spend the morning in hair and make-up. With a mimosa in hand, we will work our way through three outfits. We will coach you from your nose to your toes; playfully coaxing you into poses that will encourage that hedonistic side we all have, to come out and play.
After your session, you will be probably be hungry and all dolled up for an evening on the town! Plan on grabbing dinner downtown and enjoy drinks or pick up tickets to a show at the Peoples Bank Theatre or the Adelphia.
Downtown Marietta is totally walkable, with multiple restaurants, antique shops, boutiques and interesting places to visit. Don’t forget to walk (or drive)over the Putnam Street Bridge to Harmar Village for a drink and a burger at the Harmar Tavern or Sunday brunch at the Busy Bee. Both feature lovely patios for outdoor dining and great food!
Speaking of walkable, do you like things on the spooky side? Schedule an evening Ghost Trek with Hidden Marietta to learn about the haunted history of Marietta, who knows, you may even learn something about the building Hot Tomato is located in.
Do you really want to up your creepy game? Schedule a tour at the Peoples Mortuary Museum. A little known, but gem of a museum that is dying for you to visit!
If you are planning to visit Marietta but need some help figuring out what to do, where to stay or where to eat and drink – we will totally give you the inside scoop on all of Hot Tomato’s favorites spots!
