September 2016 HOT LIST
On September 1, 2016 by hottomatopinupacademy8First off, you might be saying to yourself “Where the heck was the August Hot List?”
That’s a totally legitimate question. The answer is this: I was in Aruba.
Now, the idea was proposed that I do an Aruba Hot List while I was down there but I was much to busy on the PIRATE SHIP, at THE SPA, dining at MY FAVORITE FIVE STAR RESTAURANT , lounging on my private dock at THE BEST PLACE TO STAY ON THE ISLAND, hiking to the NATURAL POOL and jumping out of a PERFECTLY GOOD AIRPLANE!!
Yeah, do all those things.
OK! Onto September! The mornings are cool, the sun is golden, the kids are in school…Let’s see what’s HOT!
EATS
A Cheers of sorts, it just doesn’t get more “everybody knows your name” than the Sixpence Pub & Eatery! From organizing cruise-ins and poker runs benefiting the community to offering a great line-up of local music, this place is always filled with good vibes!

ARTS
REsolve Studio and Parkersburg Art Center have come together to create such a special interactive art space for our community. The description ALONE will give you the warm and fuzzies! Step inside!
Building Bridges 2 Careers, Harmar Elementary School, Marietta Middle School and The Boys and Girls Club of Washington County, are working with the 5 artists of REsolve Studios to fill over 5000 sq. ft. of museum space at the Parkersburg Art Center, with a variety of imaginative interpretations of a clubhouse.

THE CLUBHOUSE an interactive art exhibit by US!
A giant blanket fort made of meaningful fabric scraps, significant to the ups and downs of everyday life we all experience, along with a bazillion pillows with which participants can playfully imagine their own pillow forts, turning the triumphs and tragedies of our past into a new way of being.
A sitting room that becomes an energetic dance/music/performance stage, transforms experience from that which passively stays at rest sitting into art that floats and flies through the air.
A study or reading room on a tree stand, a platform set within tree branches flowing into building block structures becoming abandoned, quarry-like (a bit like an old mine shaft or rocky, stacked mountainous) structures.
An empty lot or abandoned family farm grows to become a Tin Forest, butterfly garden of scrap.
An art studio where designs on a 2 dimensional page lift off the drawing board, becomes art that extends off the wall inviting viewers to step inside.
